HELP! My hair is falling out!

Anybody please give me some advice on what to do. I’m only 33 and I’ve always had thin hair but since about 5 months or so ago when I’m in the shower my hair is just coming out. Now when I do my hair I have to literally place the back of my hair so my scalp isn’t showing!! This is so very devestating and any advise on why this would be happening and what to do would be great!! I do take a multi vitamin daily so I just don’t know??

Did you have a baby recently? or are you preggo? I had it happen both times and it is very weird but it grows back as your hormones go back to normal. If not, I suggest you see a dermatologist.

I had a baby a year ago and it’s funny but my hair just never really stopped falling out. Now it’s not falling out as bad but for a few months it was like I would wash it and I would have to rinse hairs off my hands. Is there something I should be taking or doing?

i would take prenatal vitamins for your hair. you dont have to be pregnant to take them. if not take folic acid which helps with hair growth.

I have a 5 month old and my hair is falling out all the time. I think that if you are BF that you should be taking prenatal vitamins. I started taking mine again and the hair falling out has gotten less. Before, when I my son (2 years ago) my hair fell out for a couple of months. I took the vitamins then too. Also, you can eat carrots, egg yolks, rice, whole grains and milk because the keratin in them helps rebuilds the hair cells. You should also talk to your doctor to make sure you don’t have any health issues.

If it is not hormones, you may be anemic, that will make your hair fall out. It is normal to loose up to 100 hairs a day though.

Go to the doctor and get some blood work done. It could be a lot of things, but Dr Oz was on Oprah the other day and they had a very similar situation with a girl in the audience. Her hair was coming out in clumps. They did a blood test and found that she likely had a brain tumor and/or something abnormal about her pituitary gland. Definitely get it checked out. Dr. Oz said they can learn soooo much from hair/nails/eyes/skin.

certain birth controls will do this too…. read up on whatever b/c you are taking, you may have to switch.

you should have your thyroid checked, also. major gland that does a lot more than you realize when its over/under-active.
